Update to with custom sparse checkout

Hi,

I would like to propose a change in "Update to revision..." functionality.
If the user selects "Checkout depth - Choose items", the already checked out items in the working copy should be preselected.
Otherwise he might select new desired items only and the existing ones will be deleted (without warning).
This is and confusing for the users and not expected.

Should I file a new issue for this?

  Harald

Further Background:
I'm new to this list and just introducing SVN to a team of ~200 users here, switching from MKS (at last!).
Some of our users want to do a sparse checkout, emulating something they did in MKS by updating only selected subdirs.
So they do a sparse checkout with customly selected folders.
Later they want to add some more folders with "Update to revision...".
They select just the new folders and the existing ones are deleted.
A preselection of the existing folders would be simple and more intuitive.
