Bug Report - externals update reports failure

Using the latest v1.7 (and any v1.7 or higher), there are errors reported when updating externals. For example:
 
External: C:\devel\cygwin.bat
External failed: C:\devel\cygwin.bat
Error: Failure opening '/cruise/externals/cygwin.bat/cygwin.bat'
Error: '/cruise/externals/cygwin.bat' is not a directory in filesystem
Error: '/home/svn/mainrepo/db'
 
Despite the error message, it does appear that the update was actually successful. This happens with all externals on every computer. It is 100% reproducible.
