AW: Icon overlay regression in 1.7.5?

Hello!
Now I experienced something unusal with 1.7.4 as well:
I reverted a change on one file, and now the TortoiseSVN overlay is gone.
Through trial and error I found out, that changing
Settings -> Icon Overlay -> Status Cache
from "Default" to "shell"
the icon shows up again. Is this normal?
Should I leave the Setting on "shell"?
