I guess my confusion is the result of having two (anomalous perhaps ;) systems where the command line client is able to access repositories with no problem using svn+ssh where the path in SVN_SSH is set using "back" slashes instead of "forward" slashes. [Note: The command processor is JPSoftware's TakeCommand 13.03]
