There are a couple of threads doing SSL things in the SVN libraries.

It occurred to me when I saw that that I'd cocked up my test environment
(as I mentioned in my last post), so at this point I'm inclined to lay the
finger of blame at our IT (either the network or our server).

When I copy *all* the required repos. across to my local test box, and
change the externals to use them, even over HTTPS it doesn't take TSVN
longer than a second or so to fully populate, so I think the only real
“problem” with the repo-browser is that it starts a thread to do the work,
but then immediately waits for it (I think trying to populate the list
control), hanging the GUI. A colleague at another site still does have to
wait ~10 s. for the repo-browser to come back when she accesses my local
test box.

That's liveable with, however, so I'm not convinced there's any point
trying to “fix” anything in TSVN, esp. if there's an option in the offing to
disable the externals fetch.

I was deliberately running 1.7.2, so I don't yet have those.

   Thanks for the pointers.
