Odd mailing list response

I subscribed to this list yesterday (using the same email I used to
create an tigris web account a while back). After replying to the initial
“are you sure” email, I go the following odd response:

You have changed your subscription to the discussion
users_at_tortoisesvn.tigris.org.

- Your subscription is now trusted. This means you can post without
moderation to this discussion.
- Your subscription is now inactive. This means you will not receive
notifications from this discussion until it has been reactivated by an
administrator.

“Inactive”? Now, I was able to post, but never received my original
email, or the response, or anything else. I'm going to try using the forum
for now, but does anyone have idea what's up? I can't see any mail-list
management page on the tigris site.

Further: I just “subscribed” via the forum view of the list, and got an
instant “Welcome” email. So that was odd.
