V1.7.2 authentication issue

Working against a VisualSVN server via https.
If TortoiseSVN is installed to a new client machine (server cert not yet accepted, no login creds cached ..), I get the message box "TortoiseProc: Invalid argument detected" if I try to check out a working copy.
Tortoise does not prompt to accept the server certificate or for the login.

Work-Around: Use command line client installed with tortoise to check out. Accept cert and enter creds.
The next server access through tortoise will use the cached credentials
