I recently upgraded to TortoiseSVN 1.7, and am using it with Win7 (64 bit).
I was having an issue where, upon right-clicking and choosing "SVN
Commit...", the commit dialog window would pop up, but hang as soon as I
tried to enter any text into the message log. This would happen for
repositories on two different servers.
After a bit of searching, our admin found this January 2010
post<http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2014866/tortoisesvn-keeps-stalling-hanging>on
stackoverflow.com, which pointed to the icon overlays as a potential
problem, so I changed the Settings > Icon Overlays > Status cache from
"Default" to "None." This seems to work occasionally, but I wanted to
report it to see if this can be addressed in a future release, since I lose
a lot of visual information by not having accurate icon overlays.
Also, I still get some hangs, so I'm not sure this is the 100% solution.
