It might be helpful for the wizards here to know which access protocol
(svn, http, https, svn+ssh) you used.

And - (especially with http) - whether there is any http proxy,
(personal) firewall or antivirus software which could intercept and
mangle the network connection traffic.

If you use http, could you try to switch the http library (serf vs.
neon)?
