With what sequence of commands? Worst case I can come up with is
choosing "revert" instead of "commit", and you lose a few hours of
work.
Is there some other TortoiseSVN command that irreversibly modifies
your working copy?

Also, even if you do manage to completely destroy your working copy,
no possible sequence of commands in TortoiseSVN can remove data from
the server, so you can easily get it back again, modulo local
modifications.

If you really think you can destroy large amounts of data using
TortoiseSVN, I think you need to explain to us how that might come
about.

As for the renaming, I would like to weigh in on the side of "Leave
the command-names alone". In the particular case of "download", there
are (at least) three commands that can involve copying data from the
server to my filesystem. Which one is "download"? "Export", which you
seem to be recommending become "download", often doesn't involve the
server at all.
