Tortoise 1.6.12: "FOLDER" locked, but sandbox & repository "folder" seems fine

Today I upgraded from TortoiseSVN 1.6.11 windows x86 to 1.6.12 windows x86.

I tried to move a directory from area1\folder to area2\folder via the right-click drag, but it resulted in tree conflicts, which I could only figure out how to resolve by deleting everything in sandbox area1 and area2 and svn/update to get back to where I started.

I moved area1\folder to area2\folder via TortoiseSVN Repo-Browser.

I created a brand new area1\folder (in a sandbox, and svn committed it).

Now I can't pull an update into my sandbox.

I can right-click TortoiseSVN/update on the area1\folder successfully.

But if I try to right-click TortoiseSVN/updateon area1, I get a tree conflict
   Working copy
   ...area1\FOLDER locked
   Please execute the 'Cleanup' command

I note that the "FOLDER" is uppercase in this message; it is lowercase "folder" in the Repo-Browser and in my sandbox.

I successfully execute right-click TortoiseSVN/Cleanup on area1\folder and on area1.

I try again to right-click TortosieSVN/Update on area1, and again receive the locked error (area1\FOLDER).

I delete my local area1\folder, and right-click TortoiseSVN/update on area1 again, and area1\folder comes back successfully.

I try again to right-click TortoiseSVN/Update on area1, and again receive the locked error (area1\FOLDER).

Do I need to uninstall TortoiseSVN 1.6.12 and reinstall TortoiseSVN 1.6.11 to solve this? Is this some uppercase/lowercase confusion problem?

I'm lost, and can't figure out how to get out of the mess in which I find myself.
