First: only drivers can cause a BSOD. Applications can not cause a BSOD.
Never!

Which means you either have faulty hardware (since it's triggered by
extensive file access I recommend you backup your data immediately and
then think about replacing your harddrive before you risk losing all
your data!) or a faulty driver (in which case you should look for an
update for your drivers).

There's also a known problem on Win7, but that won't cause a BSOD - as
mentioned BSODs can only get triggered by drivers.
