Yes, I've made the same experience.
I handle only simple text files and no special IDE or shell.
When I try to delete a WC, some folders (at least the WC folder itself) cannot be deleted for some minutes.
Curiously this happens _after_ I have deleted all .svn folders... (after that I use WinRAR to compress and delete the rest)
