Commit error causes lost message

From: Tristan Muntsinger <kachikosbodkin_at_gmail.com>

Occasionally when I do a commit I get an error something along the lines of "Cannot locate repository." Not a big deal, I try to commit again, and it usually works. I'm not complaining about that -- I'll save that for another post :)

When I do get this error, there doesn't seem to be a way to recover the "message" I wrote that I wanted attached to that commit.

Is there some way I can recover this that I'm missing?
