What exactly is the error message you see? Feed your favourite websearch with
that error message, too!

For your info, in order to use a browser, you only need a subset of what is
defined in HTTP. Some proxies may not only forward traffic but actually look
at the traffic and reject some of the additional commands required by SVN,
e.g. squid in its default configuration used to (and maybe still does).

Further, not every authentication method out there is supported, you may have
to switch the underlying library from serf to neon or vice versa ... it's
some time ago I had to do that, I don't remember the exact steps, but it
should be possible to figure things out given a bit more info.
