Ignored files and folders are displayed as deleted

I've marked a few folders as ignored (I set svn:ignore property for them). However, when I check my project for modifications, files in those ignored folder and the folders themselves are displayed as deleted, which pollutes in the UI. "Show ignored files" is unchecked.
Have I done something wrong or is this a bug.
I am using TortoiseSVN 1.6.10, Build 19898 - 32 Bit
