Switch deleted my work directory

In Repo Browser I copied a folder to a new branch. Then I went into my work folder and did a Switch to the branch. I would expect it to take some time but not change any files. However, this deleted my work folder. The dialog even said that it deleted it. I then did svn update (without switching again, so it's still pointing to the branch) and it put all the files back.
