Any time a checkout or revision is interrupted (with any client), you
should be able to run "cleanup" and then "update", and the transfer will
pick up where it left off. It should not corrupt your data or any of
your local changes. The conflicts you're seeing would exist whether the
transfer was stopped or continued to completion.

I solved the problem by connecting my laptop directly to my server using
a crossover cable (completely bypassing the router).

I have never had this problem at work, where we have much more expensive
routers and switches.
