Feature request re. context menu

I like to keep things on my system very neat and tidy, and after doing a fresh install of Windows 7 recently, I had a thought regarding the context menu display - though I don't know how far-fetched my idea may be (I think it's highly dependent on whether or not Windows has the ability to do this).

I have noticed that the context menu seems to be displayed almost everywhere when you right click - even when you're just right clicking on the desktop (and I've already disabled/enabled all of the available settings to have it show up in as few places as possible). I was wondering if it would be possible to add a configurable setting that would allow you to display the context menu only on objects (folders) which are either already versioned, or are (empty) folders (makes sense for committing to a new folder; doesn't really make sense to show it if you don't have an object selected). This would get rid of the context menu when clicking on things like the desktop, etc... I know you can configure paths to have the menu not displayed, however doing something like that can be quite cumbersome (especially when I only want it to show on existing SVN'd objects, or a new, empty folder that I want to check-out in to).

If that is perhaps not possible, a configuration option to have it not display the "TortoiseSVN" sub-context menu category everywhere would be an idea. In the options for Cascaded Context Menu where you can pick the options that will be context-sensitive, I wouldn't mind enabling some of those and have it only show those rather than additionally always showing the TortoiseSVN menu. Basically, a bit more control over how and where the context menu is displayed would be extremely appreciated!

Hopefully my idea makes some sense and can be added to your feature request list.

Thanks!

Eli Sand.

NB: I am not on the mailing list (as I don't have much else to say - TortoiseSVN is pretty darn slick) - please CC me if you reply, thanks!
