"Refresh" option when committing

It would be really nice to have an option to "refresh" the "Changes
made" file list when doing a commit. What I find is that I often go
to commit changes, and then realize "Doh! I forgot to update the help
file!". Rather than canceling the commit, I'd rather make the change
to the help file, then refresh the commit list to see the newly
changed file, and then finish the commit.

I'm sure this has been discussed before, but in my limited searching,
I couldn't find anything..
