Problem with UTF-8-files and creating and appliying patches

From: Carsten Schuette <c.schuette_at_neusta.de>

Hi,

I have a file that contains a UTF-8 marker BOM at the beginning. Modifying,
committing and checking this file works fine. But when I create a patch of a
file that was modified in the first few lines, the patch does not contain
this BOM characters. This is fine. But the patch cannot be applied again,
because TortoiseMerge does not handle files with the BOM tag correctly.

Any ideas?

Mit freundlichen Grüßen
Carsten Schütte
