What does this error mean?

Hi,

I receive this error when trying to commit any file on Tortoise SVN (and
other Windows clients). I'm on Win XP. The error is

org.tigris.subversion.javahl.ClientException: Permission denied
svn: Commit failed (details follow):
svn: Can't create directory
'/var/www/svn/repos/easyorder/db/transactions/20-1.txn': Permission denied

What does this mean and any ideas what I (or our sysadmin) can do to fix it?

Thanks, - Dave
