I doubt that. The fact that it works with https but not http indicates
that there's a firewall/proxy in between that doesn't work properly.
Because those can only inspect (and interfere with) unencrypted traffic.
As soon as the traffic is encrypted (as with https), they can't
interfere anymore - and that's when it works again.
