The situation seems to have improved as of nightly build TortoiseSVN 1.6.99,
Build 17999 - 64 Bit. It is still not perfect however, and in the one case
I've encountered in the last 2 days where the icon overlays did not update
correctly the Cleanup command was effective in causing the icon overlays to
update to the correct state.
