Why "SVN Update" doesn't update local copy with the one from repository

I'm a newbie in SVN. We just moved to it couple of days ago. And I
have a problem with updating sources from server.

When I'm trying to update local files either using "SVN Update" or
"Update to revision" from context menu TortoiseSVN opens update form,
does something and says (90909 is just a sample here):
Command Update
Completed At revision: 90909

Then I click OK button to close this form and when I check file I
wanted to update it stays the same. Updates from server didn't replace
my local file.

I don't understand why this happens. I don't even understand if
TortoiseSVN detected that local file differs from server one.

Can anyone give me a tip if I'm using update functionality incorrect?
