Prevent update while program is running

Hi folks,

we use tortoise and Labview here. Since Labview loads every file into memory, it happed that someone did an update while Labview is running and then saved the old version of the file, back over the updated one.

Now I'm searching for a possibility to prevent updates while a process (Labview in this case) is running, so the user is forced to close Labview first before he makes an update!

Does anybody has a sollution for the problem?
