https linking with tortoise

Pardon the interruption, but after looking in the FAQ for 10 minutes I thought I would post here.
I hope this is the correct group for these issues.

I have a remote SVN server https://my_fakename_server:4444/svn with folders MyProj1/trunk and other folders.
I can login to this URL with a given Username and password (but I have to accept all certificate issues) and see the files I want to sync to.

I am running XP home on my laptop, and loaded the latest Tortoise as of today

I have created a local folder MyProj1 with a folder trunk inside
I right click on the (trunk folder) icon to get to the -> TortoiseSVN -> settings.
In the popup, I select the network tree element, where I tried
many iterations of the possible settings:
Enable proxy server is checked:
1: Address https://my_fakename_server:4444/svn Port 0 Uname <goodone> Password <goodone>
2: Address https://my_fakename_server/svn Port 4444 Uname <goodone> Password <goodone>
3: Address https://my_fakename_server:4444/svn/MyProj1 Port 0 Uname <goodone> Password <goodone>
4: Address https://my_fakename_server/svn/MyProj1 Port 4444 Uname <goodone> Password <goodone>
5: Address https://my_fakename_server:4444/svn/MyProj1/trunk Port 0 Uname <goodone> Password <goodone>
6: Address https://my_fakename_server/svn/MyProj1/trunk Port 4444 Uname <goodone> Password <goodone>

I then try to SVN check out
(fully recursive) and (Head revision) and get the following error:

Command Checkout from https://svn.my_fakename_server:4444/svn/Myproj1. revision Head, Fully r...
Error OPTIONS of 'https://svn.my_fakename_server:4444/svn/Myproj1/trunk': Coult not
Error resolve hostname ''https://svn.my_fakename_server:4444/svn/Myproj1/Trunk': the
Error requested name is valid and was found in the database, but it does not have the
Error correct associated data being resolved for.
Error (https://svn.my_fakename_server:4444)
Finished!

Apparently this works for others, so I think my network setup is not right.
Any pointers would be helpful
