Yes, I have the same issue.

When I'm doing a 'SVN Commit...' I review the diff of every file.
If I press the reload button, TortoiseMerge will remain in the process list after pressing the X to close it. (which I do if I change something in the file being reviewed)
Sometimes the pending processes don't allow me to delete the folder where 'SVN Commit...' was used (the contents are deleted, but the folder is locked). It can be deleted after terminating the pending TortoiseMerge processes. (don't know how to reproduce this state)

I'm running Microsoft Windows XP Professional SP3.
I'm using TortoiseSVN 1.5.6.14908 and the only non-default setting I have is 'Icon Overlays'->'Status Cache' set to 'Shell'.
