RE: Has anyone go their TortoiseSVN working with "no-ip.com" or any other IP forwarding site?

I see that dyndns.com in addition to dynamic DNS they also have WebHop URL forwarding. So, you could forward the dyndns URL to the Port 8080 IP address... in theory... No, I haven't tried this.

I think this might be problematic... however I have never used one of these services. But, my assumption is that no-ip.com runs on port 80. Is there a way to specify that you want it to forward port 8080?

Is no-ip.com:8080 valid and will it forward to your iP at port 80? Or does it only work for port 80 traffic?

This web site says:

URL redirection / port 80 redirection

Can you run your svn server on port 80?

Subject: Has anyone go their TortoiseSVN working with "no-ip.com" or any other IP forwarding site?

G'day,

First off, I am creating another thread as I think the topic of my
last one is not revivant anymore (
http://groups.google.com/group/tortoisesvn/browse_thread/thread/5a62563c4eada4c5?hl=en)

So, has anyone go their TortoiseSVN working with "no-ip.com" or any
other IP forwarding site? If so, is it possible to get some
instructions on what you did as I can get SVN to work with any port
but not with the "no-ip.com" address. I was always getting the SVN
error "Repository moved temporarily to 'http://[my-ip]:8080'; please
relocate" when enterring "xxxxx.no-ip.biz/svn/xxxxx/head/".
However, if I enter the actual static IP it works as "http://[myip]:
8080/svn/xxxxx/head/" it works just fine!

The reason for this is that my home IP in non-static and could change
at anytime. If my developers who are in another location are wrking
on the code files and the IP changes here at home, then it makes it
very messy to fix the repository! I'm obviously trying to avoid
paying for a static IP at my address!

Thanks
Brendan
