Thanks again for the very prompt reply. I can see this whole thing is really
a Subversion issue not a TortoiseSVN issue so thank you for being patient
with me :)

If I want to carry on using subversion (which I do) then I must find a
creative solution. Actually I'm only putting the files in their "correct"
(but svn-incompatible) position for the benefit of the installer (mirroring
the final file layout), but there is no real reason why the installer can't
translate some of the paths and pick them up from subfolders. Now I type
this it sounds so obvious, but I was not thinking laterally before.

Thanks for your help, Stefan. Btw I'm loving the rest of TortoiseSVN, it is
a joy to use (particularly contrasted with SourceSafe!).
