What is the problem? If you want a lock, try to get it and you get an
instant response if there is a remote lock... And if you need multiple
locks because the files are related to each other, agree on some sort
of locking order to prevent 'deadlocks' (or try to get the team
members to communicate about their intentions ;-) )
