RE: TSVNCache.exe very slow and/or not responding

I do have a virus scanner running.
I'm not sure what "on-access" means.
I'm sure I could turn off the virus scanner temporarily.
I'm not sure I can or should turn it off permanently.

Also, have there been improvements in TSVNCache.exe that are in 1.5RC2 that are not in the last stable release 1.4.8?
Can I and/or should I upgrade even if our server is not upgraded (and may never be)?
