Updating entire directory tree structure WITHOUT updating files

Hi,

Is there a way to update an entire SVN directory tree structure WITHOUT
updating the files ???
I couldn't see any way of doing this with TortoiseSVN. I'm not sure if
SVN supports this but I assume it can be done one way or another.

I want to get the entire directory structure of a very large repository,
but I don't want to get all the files (due to the size).
Once I have the directory structure, I then want to be able to pick and
choose which sub-directories (of any depth) I want to do a real update
on and obtain the associated files.

I want to be able to repeat the above process when ever necessary.
i.e. update the directory structure (getting new directories and
removing deleted directories).

Thanks, Brendan.
