Bug Report: TSVNCacheWindow did not close during Windows XP shutdown

From: James <nick_at_zigrem.com>
Date: Sun, 10 Feb 2008 16:00:15 -0800

BACKGROUND
------------------
I have "TortoiseSVN 1.4.7 Build 11792 - 32 Bit" installed on my
computer. I have Windows XP SP2 with the latest updates.

WHAT I DID
--------------
I opened a folder via explorer (not Internet Explorer) and browsed in a
few directories I have under version control. I was experiencing
trouble, so I attempted to close the folder window. When that was not
successful, I attempted to restart my computer altogether.

WHAT I EXPECTED TO HAPPEN
--------------------------------------
I expected to browse a few folders and then close those explorer when I
was done, without issue.

WHAT ACTUALLY HAPPENED
------------------------------------
At some point while browsing folders which were under version control, I
noticed that the overlays which I normally see on files and folders were
not there. So, I attempted to refresh the folder I was in in hopes that
the overlays would appear. That didn't do anything, so I navigated up a
few folder levels and then back into a few folders to attempt to "kick
start" the icon overlays. While navigating through these folders, the
interface became non-responsive (that is, the explorer interface).
Luckily, I already had the task manager open, so I was able to close
explorer by forcefully ending the task. I wanted my computer to be in
full working order, so I then decided to restart my computer. I
attempted to restart my computer using the "Restart" option in the task
manager menus. During the shutdown process, a dialog showed which was
attempting to close a process called "TSVNCacheWindow". The progress bar
reached capacity before it could shut down the process, so I clicked
"End Task" to forcefully end the process. This ended the process and my
computer restarted.
