The UUID is shown in the properties dialog, svn tab (right-click, choose
"properties" in the explorer menu, not the TSVN menu. then switch to the
svn tab).

But if you didn't do a dump/reload cycle or otherwise manipulated the
repository on the server, the UUID won't change.

the only thing that prevents the recent messages from showing up is if
you click on the button before the file list is fully shown in the
commit dialog (while it still gathers the information). In that case,
the UUID is not yet known to TSVN and the recent messages dialog.
