Editing properties / Repository Browser

The documentation states that one canNOT edit properties via the
Repository Browser. Quote from the documentation:
"View the file's properties (you cannot edit properties directly in
the repository).
View the folder's properties (you cannot edit properties directly in
the repository)."

However, it seems that that is possible however .. so which one will
change, docs or browser?

I'm using:
TortoiseSVN 1.4.99, Build 11758 - 32 Bit
on Win2K SP4
