TortoiseSVN.dll causes applications to crash randomly

Hello,

I have observed random application crashes on my computer in the last
few weeks. It was applications that have been running fine for months,
or even a carefully secured .NET application that have been crashing
with no further problem visible. Today I've opened the debugger for one
of them and looked at the call stack. Then I've noticed the module
"TortoiseSVN.dll" in it, which called some debug code from the C runtime
or something. The code line where the actual error occured didn't seem
to be related to a crash. The only error message that the debugger gave
me was something like "caused a fatal error", *not* something like
"access violation" or the like.

This was in TortoiseSVN version 1.4.3. I have now upgraded to 1.4.5, but
the changelog (and also SVN's changelog, as advertised on the "how to
report a bug" page) doesn't include entries describing what I've seen.
I'm still watching out and I'll debug the process when it happens again.

So I assume there is a problem with that DLL that causes any application
that loads it to crash under unknown circumstances. There doesn't even
have to be any user interaction. A few times I came back, unlocked my
computer and the first thing I've seen was that crash report from the
app that was running the whole day. And it wasn't in the moment of
unlocking because I'd have heard the system sound then.

I just wanted to report this problem to you. If this has already been
reported, please add my vote. (I haven't found anything related in a
brief search.) I'm sorry that I can't provide you any more details by
now, the problem is just too generic. The only thing I can say is that
"TortoiseSVN.dll" was on the call stack, followed by CRT debug code. If
you'd like to see certain information from a debugging session, please
tell me. There's no packed report or dump file or something that I could
attach here.

Here's a bit of my system environment:
* Windows XP Pro SP2 (Media Center), latest patch level
* Kaspersky Anti Virus 7.0 (no further firewall or kernel filter)
* Visual Studio 2005 (for debugging)

Final note: Please CC me when replying, I'm not subscribed to this
