Inline diff word-wise

On nightly build r10437 I am seeing a small problem with the "Inline
diff word-wise" button in TortoiseMerge. By default it comes up as
selected, but the display shows the individual letter differences.
Clicking it the first time deselects it, but the display stays the same.
Clicking again selects it, and the display is now in, what appears to
be, the "Inline diff word-wise" mode.

I'm not exactly sure which mode is which, but something is not right.
Either it is coming up with the button selected state not matching the
display mode or pressing the button produces the opposite effect from
what it should.
