Usability woes with Compare Revisions interface

From: Daniel O'Connor <daniel.oconnor_at_gmail.com>

I have a problem or three.

I'm comparing two releases via the Compare Revisions interface.

I know that developer A has been working on a feature, and incrementally
committing. Developers B & C have been stamping out bugs left right and
center.

If I want to view all changes by developer A on Branch B, I'm in a bit of
trouble. Or if I want to find and specific file quickly; I'm also in
trouble.

Basically I want to view the information with the same dexterity available
when doing a show log; but can't. The worst part is that I can't even do
rudimentary find-as-you-type effectively.

Currently it's not possible to:

   - Search by filename (inline find, ala gaim's buddy list or firefox)
   - Sort by filename
   - Sort by date
   - Sort/filter by developer
   - Refresh

I believe I need these actions, or similar, to easily compare two revisions.

Is there any work planned (a quick search didn't reveal anything) around
this particular interface?
Is there some better way to do what I'm doing that I don't know about?
