Repo-browser performance on very large repository

I run a few repositories which are very large and consist mainly of
large binary files. The largest of the repositories is about 20 GBytes
on disk, with about 20000 revisions.

Apparently as a result of this, using the repo-browser in TortoiseSVN
(version 1.4.4.9706) can run very slowly, taking up to a minute to view
the root of the repository).

I realize that this is not strictly a TortoiseSVN issue, and that it's a
feature of 'svn ls -v' too. 'svn ls' without the '-v' performs fine.

So I was wondering:

Is it currently possible to turn of the extra information (author,
revision, date, etc) in the repo-browser as this is not generally needed
by my users when browsing?

If it is not possible to turn off the details, may I suggest it as a
feature for some future release.

Thanks
Mark
