Why cannot copy from one revision of URL to another ?

( "something" was deleted rev 3100 )

then copy from
https://somewhere/svn/myrepo/source/something (rev. 3000 )
to
https://somewhere/svn/myrepo/source/something (head)
does give errormessage:
Cannot copy from https://somewhere/svn/myrepo/source/something to
https://somewhere/svn/myrepo/source/something.
What ?
