Missing working copy admin area using Firefox under SVN

How can I get Firefox and Thunderbird to work well under SVN? Mostly it
works, but....

I'm getting the following error message concerning updated extensions
for Firefox, which blocks updates and commits.

Error Directory:
'C:\LocalView\trunk\Profiles\Firefox\extensions\{EF522540-89F5-46b9-B6FE-1829E2B572C6}\.svn'
containing working copy admin area is missing

Error Please execute the "Cleanup" command.

Running Cleanup doesn't make any difference. I've tried adding the
offending files from the folder, but this gives me another error message.

The only way I've found to get it to work OK is to delete the offending
files. Shutting down Firefox and Thunderbird, then trying to
update/commit makes no difference.

I've searched TortoiseSVN archive for info, checked the FAQ, searched
via Google, asked by computer guru, and also had a look through Firefox
and Thunderbird sites. No info on how to properly set up and manage
Firefox and Thunderbird under SVN, much less how to address this problem.

Thanks,
Adam Wyner
