Preserve selected files for commit on error

Is there a way to preserve the checkmarked files for commit when an error occurs (like "file(s) needs update)?
If not I would like to see this as a new feature in an upcoming release :-) (just do not close the commit dialog!?)
It can be quite annoying and time consuming to go through all the changed files again and mark those I want to be commited.
