As far as I know the position of the TortoiseSVN menu in the explorer file
menu is determined by Explorer and not by TortoiseSVN. Maybe there's a
secret registry key that allows you to turn the menu integration off, but I
don't know about it.

Which shortcut did change? What was it before you installed TortoiseSVN?
What happens if you press that key now?

On my German XP I can create a new folder with Alt+D(atei)+N(eu)+O(rdner). I
guess that on an english XP it would be Alt+F(ile)+N(ew)+F(older).
TortoiseSVN doesn't use the 'N' hotkey, so I expect no change in your menu
hotkeys.
