Just saw your replies Stefan - will try the nightly build when it's up.

:-)

Hi Stefan

The explorer restarts caused by tortoisesvn 1.4.2 on my Vista box were very
reproducible. This is a new machine - clean install with the usual tools,
VS2005, SQLServer etc - and no other shell extensions.

The machine is still in 30 day activation mode - which means the UI is in
Aero Basic mode - and not Aero Glass.

It's also currently using the default MS VGA driver until Nvidia release
their GeForce 8800 drivers for Vista.

I've attached a machine information file.

Hope this helps.

Best regards,

Tony

I don't think that's TSVN's fault. You don't have by any chance iTunes
intalled? That crap program does this even on XP (and crashes every time I
try to close it).

Hard to diagnose. I never had such crashes when I tried TSVN on Vista.
But I'll do some more testing.

Vista does not use column handlers anymore. So it's not possible to add a
column there anymore. The only way to add something there on Vista is to
write a property handler, but those are file-type based, not folder based.
Which means we can't use them (we can't write a property handler for every
file type out there).

I don't think that has anything to do with TSVN. I can't think of any reason
why TSVN could slow down a shutdown.
