TortoiseSVN and WINNT

hey all,

wonder if you could help me out. i have a server with latest subversion and
the clients have tortoise 117 installed. the problem is that when you try to
run a diff or merge it then errors saying that the file is treated as a
binary.

now on my XP with office 2003 it works perfectly. i have tried to install
the xdoc2txt but this still does not work..

anhelp greatly appreciated.
