Problem with Tortoise SVN 1.4.1.7992

I have combed through your mailing list and found exactly the same
problem I am having, with a previous version of your application. I
however did not find a solution to the problem and now it has come to
haunt me.

I have been using version 1.4.0.7501 up to December 2006 before I went
on Christmas holidays. I returned on Jan 3 2007 to the following error
displayed in a dialog window:

"TSVNCache has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry
for the inconvenience." This dialog window first showed up when I booted
up my computer, which runs Window XP Professional Service Pack 2. I
installed the upgrade (version 1.4.1.7992) on top of the previous
version and that did not help. I uninstalled the application, rebooted
the computer, installed the latest version again and rebooted. This did
not solve the problem. I uninstalled the application once more and
manually removed all Tortoise SVN entries from the registry, rebooted,
reinstalled the application and rebooted. This did not work either. I
repeated my last process, this time installing to another folder other
than the default and was unsuccessful. I have run out of ideas.

I realized that I can still update and commit my work but I cannot
readily tell which files have been checked in. So I have been working
and constantly committing my work to ensure that I have all my changes.
I would love to be able to resolve this problem. I have spent all of two
days trying to resolve this to no avail. Your help will be greatly
appreciated.
