subversion error

Several months back there was a corruption of some sort in an svn directory. A
new repository was created and the files were copied over.
It is a couple of months later, and being the new guy, I get to look after the
repository.

Earlier today, I tried Updating my copy of the repository, and I recieved an
error that a file that one of the programmers was working on is not under
version control. That programmer has no problem with updating or committing.

So, after I recieved the error, I tried checking the repository out, and I
recieved the error that had been recieved several months back:
Invalid diff stream: [tgt] insn 0 starts beyond the target view position
And this error doesn't even happen in the same directory that I had the issue
with earlier. This error happens in the same directory that the error was in 3
months ago. A directory that no one has changed in all that time.

Other than recreating another repository, and copying all the files again, what
can be done about this issue?
