How do I set my working copy as a version controlled repository?

Hi,

On my local server I have checked out a 11GB SVN repository from the SVN
server overseas and copied it to different places for different users.

Those different places are accessible to our windows workstations using
Samba and this enables us to use tortoiseSVN. What I need to know how to do
is tell tortoiseSVN that this is a working copy, how can I do this?
I has all the .svn files inside and svn command line works.
You understand I did this because I didn't want to checkout the 11GB
repository several times!

Many thanks
