Global Ignore Pattern Issues

From: Aaron Davies <aaron.davies_at_gmail.com>

Hi, I'm trying to ignore all directories named "bin" and all their
contents (files and subdirectories) in an existing project, but I'm
having trouble setting up the global ignore pattern. So far, I have
"bin */bin */bin/*", but it's still showing directories of the form
"foo/bar/baz/bin/com" when I do a "check for modifications" with "show
unversioned files" checked. How do I fix this?
